Our Story

On a Lafontaine Farm through the 50’s Marcel and Ethel Robitaille ran a mixed farm specializing in beef cattle. They ran summer camps for young boys and girls and housed international workers for local factories. They were able to share in their passion for antiques by buying and selling furniture, tools, dishware and artifacts within their community.

Over time they became a well-established hub in the area; a little village amongst a village, ultimately bourgeoning the name Marcel-ville (French for town). Around 1961 the Robitaille’s sold the farm and moved to the shop’s present location between the towns of Midland and Penetanguishene, Ontario.

The company became official in 1961, incorporated in 2005 and continues to thrive as a third-generation family run business today.

We were the forerunners in Ontario for century wood cabinets and furniture and were an exemplary producer of Pine Canadiana furniture throughout the 80s. We have continued to hone our skills and have now evolved into the highest level of fine furniture and luxury cabinet production.
